Effaced Welcomes Intern Samira Morin to the Global Development Team

Effaced is delighted to welcome Samira Morin to our team as an intern.

Samira brings experience that bridges climate action, gender equality, human rights, and global health. As a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama, she co-founded Pocrí Verde, a youth-led environmental and recycling initiative that engaged more than 100 students in sustainability and leadership education. Beyond her environmental work, she facilitated digital literacy, livelihood development, and scholarship workshops that empowered young people, especially girls, to access opportunities and see themselves as leaders.

A graduate of UCLA with a BA in International Development Studies (cum laude) and minors in Cognitive Science and Gender Studies, Samira approaches development through an intersectional lens. At her core, she is a problem solver, guided by curiosity, empathy, and a belief that lasting solutions grow from within communities.

At Effaced, Samira supports research, proposal development, and data organization, helping advance equitable, evidence-based solutions around the world.
